Grafton to meet Telford Park in Millennium Cup Final

Finishing 2 points ahead of hosts…

While there is still one more tie yet to be played in the Millennium Cup league stage of the competition, neither club can now catch the finalists Grafton and Telford Park determined on Sunday 20 May.

Telford Park hosted front runners Grafton in what would prove to be a very tight contest, but the visitors came out ahead, 5-4, to top the leaderboard.

In fact, Grafton has led the way throughout the 2019 season and while both Telford Park and Wigmore narrowed the gap, they could not quite catch them.

At the last, Grafton ended their group campaign with 25 points over Telford’s 23 and Wigmore’s 16.

Woodfield Grove, languishing at the bottom of the table, play hosts to Norbury Park on Sunday 2 June in the final tie of this year’s league stage, and only an unlikely whitewash win could salvage their pride to place them joint fourth in the final Points Standings.

Meanwhile, in a re-match of this past weekend’s encounter, Grafton will be making arrangements to host the final against Telford Park on Sunday 30 June.

A full match report will follow.
